Working with Mitch has been a wonderful experience for us and our dog (Bruce).

The first lesson we had we could see how much Mitch cared about Bruce and how well he connected with him. He is so knowledgeable and understanding….. each time we met, the priority was always making sure Bruce was at ease and that we understood why he behaved in certain ways, in certain situations. The training sessions were fun and interesting, and we saw results pretty much from day one. I would highly recommend Top Dog Training for whatever you feel your dog may need. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it has changed our lives. We have no fears bringing Bruce to places we wouldn’t have dared to previously. Our dog kept all her wonderful quirks but is also like a new dog, at the same time.

Words cannot adequatly express my gratitude, for the help they provided us. Mitch helped us with our new rescue dog, Zoe, after I had been struggling with her for weeks.
Zoe is a 6 year old mixed breed, high energy dog, who loved to run away at every possible chance. Even with adequate exercise and stimulation she was lacking trust and guidance from me. We had 2 incidents where Zoe bit other dogs while she was leashed and the other dogs ran up on her too quickly.
After each session with Mitch, Zoe made strides of improvement that continues to build today as we work with her at home. Zoe now loves to play with other dogs and meet new four legged friends; whereas in the past that was impossible! Zoe used to have to go everywhere on a leash, even our yard. Now we use an e-collar and she is LOVING her new freedom, while respecting the boundaries we set for her.
She has not tried to run away since graduation from Top Dog Training!!

Top Dog Training was such an amazing experience.

Started with weekly trainings and loved Mitch! He and our pup Cash bonded immediately! Mitch worked with us on how to train our new Pit puppy by doing things correctly and consistently. He opened the board and train shortly after so we decided to switch to that! Being we are very busy it was the best thing for not only us but Cash! I’m going to say I missed my pup so much but in all reality he is a bully and I wanted him to be the best he could be! He did enjoy his time there and learned so much! After the training Mitch came to our home and shared with the whole family how to train Cash so everyone was doing everything the same way! I thought that was huge! He learned commands as every puppy should know! The biggest one was to stop him from trying to play (attack in a friendly way) with the kitties. He is a smart-stubborn-well behaved-gently bully that I will not have people be afraid of him’ I’m so pleased with the training he received! Mitch was patient kind and it shows he really loves doing what he does! If we get more pups which is very likely we’ll for sure have Top Dog Training work the pup magic!

We have a long coat German Shepherd Dog.

This is our first time owning a shepherd and we were a bit over our heads in terms of how to work with him. Often we were left worrying that maybe our GSD wasn’t a good match (breed-wise) for our family. Mitch came recommended by some friends and we are so glad we’ve trained with him. We still have some sessions left, but the progress we’ve seen is amazing. We now feel like we know what to do so we can all be a happy family. We still have some work to do, but we have the tools we need to handle most situations. And, if I’m in a situation where I don’t know what to do, Mitch is great at helping out and getting us on track. I now couldn’t see our family without this giant goober.

Our Cattledog “Sully” is reactive, uncomfortable around strangers, and territorial when confronted by other dogs.

She’s a beautiful girl who couldn’t be more loyal, loving, and affectionate toward us at home and we wanted to help her be less anxious and fearful in the world around her. We worked with Mitch for 10 sessions in a variety of settings over several weeks and saw great progress with Sully. She went from timid apprehension and fear when first meeting Mitch to comfort with him and even wanting his affirmation and affection. We gained a much better understanding of how to work with Sully to help her continue to build the skills and confidence to keep her progressing after working with Mitch. It became clear to us that Mitch not only loves his own dogs, but grew to care for our Sully, was invested in her training, and really enjoyed working with her. He quickly understood how her mind and motivations work and Sully made great strides throughout our time working with Mitch. We highly recommend Mitch for anyone wanting a happier, more confident, and better trained dog! Five ⭐️

We brought our dog to 3 different training facilities to help us get control of our 75 lb German Shepherd.

She’s 18 months and because she was out-of-control- jumping on us nipping, barking and not following any commands, we were one week away from bringing her back to the breeder, who did have control, we thought that would be best for her.

We wanted to try one final training facility before surrendering her.
Our breeder recommended Top Dog they helped us change our dog from unruly, and a week away from going back to the breeder, to a dog who listens to our commands, including heeling, coming, sit, and down!
Mitch, the owner, came to our home. He trained in our home, backyard, and when she finally listened to us, we did field trips to Home Depot and Petsmart.
She stayed in the “Down” or “Sit” position while people and other pets came near her! Mitch said she’s near earning her Socialization award.
Mitch even tailored puppy training sessions for a little fella we just adopted.
I really can’t say enough good about Top Dog.
If I could give them a 10 rating, I definitely would!

All trainers are not created equal.
When looking for someone to help us train Buddy, we looked into many trainers. We initially had a trainer come to our house for an evaluation. She told us Buddy was untrainable without any direct interaction with our dog. We paid $150 dollars to be told that. Our next phone call was to Mitch from Top Dog Training LLC.
We met with Mitch. He immediately interacted with Buddy during our initial consultation. Mitch laid our fears to rest that Buddy was trainable. Buddy was a very fearful dog. After a couple sessions Buddy has made amazing progress. Mitch has given our family the skills to help build Buddy’s confidence and our own. Buddy is now truly a different dog who follows basic commands and is even learning some tricks. With the foundation that Mitch has laid we feel there is nothing that Buddy can’t learn.
In the future we are planning on another dog. We will be running to Top Dog LLC. Mitch has become a part of the family.

Mitch did amazing work.
Mitch did amazing work with our overly energetic German Shepherd who struggled with leash pulling, basic obedience and recall and going out in public. He not only worked with our dog but also worked with us to understand what he was doing and how we can also work at home on making sure he continues to improve with just us! The before and after of these sessions proves just how talented Mitch is and how well he can work with any dog that comes to him!

I’ll start by saying I’m a hard critic, but definitely give credit where credit is due.

Initially what set Top Dog apart was that in watching his videos, before even hiring him, the dogs looked happy and eager to please. They kept their energy and didn’t seem to lose their spirit at all. In shopping around I saw other training programs where the dogs’ spirits look beaten down and sad. So that’s why I initially chose them, and I’m glad I did. Mitch not only works with the dog, he works with the owners. He teaches the owners how to manage the dogs while addressing obedience and behavior. This is especially important because the owner has to be the leader. He runs a great program! I highly recommend him.

We heard about Top Dog Training from a friend.

We were looking for help to manage our 2 very large pups, a Great Dane and a Great Dane/mastiff mix.

We needed help with public outing, meeting new people and dogs and perimeter trading with an e-collar. The biggest need was the training of my husband and me! I needed to skills and confidence to be able to take our dogs in public on a leash.
Mitch was perfectly accommodating to our needs, he can go out house and we did some training out in public places. No dingy garage practicing sit.
